You're in the wrong forum my friend. An R8 will follow traditional Audi ways within a few years. Transmission trouble and random electrical issues. I followed a 2 year old A4 that was already having trouble keeping its left LED taillight from flickering. Japan just does it better. The doors may not feel like they weigh 300 pounds like our german counterparts, but they make up for it in other ways.

Also, on the "turbos are not reliable" front - there are multiple guys with 2004 STis on the forums that have 250K miles or more on their cars. Stock turbos, stock engine, 100% original drivetrain, basic maintenance - zero electrical issues. Hard to argue with that.

I too am done with this now.

Also note, I never had any issues with my turbos on my 91 stealth, stock lol. Only thing that killed that car was me and hydroplaning.

Like anything, if you run things in their median abilitiy, they'll last if taken care of (pending workmanship standards or outside influences). If you're boosting 22PSI hard every time with fast shifts and hard blowoff.. they'll die... fast. It's all in how you wanna play... nothing wrong with either method.

Same with a long travel truck. If you street it, treat it nice, it'll last forever. If you beat the tar out of it every weekend, shit's gunna break. But that's why you got it, you're paying to play, and you know the game.

I'm with you there, speed and performance is great and all, but going 140 mph is pretty dangerous. Going off road is much more fun.

No dude. I live in Corvallis. The cops are all over this place. The only time I get to use the abilities of the STi is on the sweet back roads we have around here. I speed then, but there's no competition about it. I got street racing out of my system about 1 month into owning my old WRX. It's stupid, dangerous and you should lose all the respect of the people around you for being a douchebag. If you want to race, pony up the dough to take your car to PIR or an autocross.

I don't know if off-road is funner or not, it's different though for sure. They both have their appeal... I still miss my low fast car, taking corners like butter and raw acceleration. Well I'll have that when I fix my other car lol... but it's all good.

    One more racing video!

White Zombie! This is an all electric 1972 Datsun 1200. If you guys haven't seen this before, it's pretty cool, and the guy's from Oregon!

Just goes to show you that any car can beat any other car in a race, (with the right modifications.)

    Enjoy.

    Browning guys? Never seen it

Watched one episode and two dudes got in a fight at the begging of the show. Some fake drama ensued, then by the last five minutes they hugged and everyone was all hunkydory. It was really "realistic"

Seemed like it was more about "bro love" in the coast range then anything else.

What happens in the coast range, stays in the coast range. Remember, it's not gay if it's for warmth

Yeah it's "Swamp Man" Shelby Stenga. I love that show. There's fake drama sometimes but a lot of the times it's all for real and fun to watch. Plus the logging side of things interests me. If I had to go back to school I'd probably focus on Forestry.

The water preserves them and colors the heartwood really cool colors. You can end up with a lot of vertical grain lumber with red streaks etc.

Most of them from the super old days when they still used waterways to transport logs. A lot of them sank and have been preserved. He also finds a lot of them that were cut down using old school ax methods. Those ones are worth big bucks.
