sager is really nice. i was debating between them and alienware a while back. went with alienware and i feel like that was the worst decision i ever made. granted it was "high performance" but i have to always have that thing plugged in. it was more a mobile desktop than a laptop.

i got a macbook pro now and i love it. alot of people seem to hate macs for some reason. bootcamp win7 64bit and its the best of both worlds.

Ha, sounds like my dad. 3 months after getting my truck, he bought the same truck in Pyrite Mica. How's that for flattery (I did make $100 for referring him too)

I was just a passenger. Old man was jelly and had to get him a retirement mobile. I was jelly on the ride home of the entune, sat nav, heated seats etc.

Once we hit I5 I reminded him I only had two payments left...

Well duh, at that time they were mobile desktops. My first Sager had two hard drives in RAID, a desktop Pentium 4, a (small) subwoofer, and a discrete graphics card. It weighed twice as much as the competition, drained a 12 cell battery in 20 minutes during idle, and a few early releases had been known to warp the case from heat. On the upside, they were faster than most people's desktops.

The one I have now is still powerful as hell, but has a much more usable battery life, thanks to some improvements - I'm using a hybrid drive, an efficient Core i7, and the computer will disable the nVidia card to use the Intel graphics card during less intense usage.

 I'm so computer illiterate!! I don't even know the first step of changing out a hard drive...it's still in the box, unopened as of right now. If I find myself needing a faster HD I will upgrade for sure.

Do you have a copy of a OS? My old Acer came with Windows Vista..this one has WIndows 7. I try doing a recovery on my old one when it loads up and it says no OS is found.

I was talking about the hard drive in the old one. It sounds like if it can get to the point where it says no OS found, then you have a good chance for at least getting the parts to work.

I think cops use a different freq., and you can just d/l a phone app :p

One thing that I don't like about mine is that I don't have last channel memory... and a channel scanner would be nice. Otherwise mine is perfect.
