Wish I was building something. I've had issues with the gas tank's vent tube not venting while I'm filling up. I end up taking a good 20-30min to fill the tank because of this and I've been dealing with it since Christmas-ish. Finally got fed up and pulled the bed, so I have easy access to every on the fuel tank to figure this crap out.

So my CB has an inline 2amp/250 volt glass fuse. Can I replace that with a 5amp blade fuse and be okay? I'm no happy with how I have my cb wired up so I want to fix it over the next couple of days

Edit: found an inline atm 2 amp fuse instead

Well I got the cb re wired. I've got it wired under the passenger seat now. With an external speaker under there as well. Since I've got my amp under the drivers seat I didn't have so much room.

I've hooked it up using a 2 wire trailer quick disconnect so if I don't want it I can hide it in the cargo bins. I just now need to re wire the antenna cable and I'll be done. And ready for this weekend

Question for you electrical people. Do I need to make a ground out of the coxal cable for my CB or do I need to ground the mount instelf? I am using ATO's bed rail mount.

Dependson the antenna. I've got a ground sandwiched between the coax and antenna. Which runs to a bed bolt.

Right now I'm using a Tiger antenna (it came with the CB. No complaints rift now) I remember with my 4' firestik I made a ground out of the shroud in the coax ans then put that onto the mount that was mounted to he hood. But since the bed rails are not grounded themselves that well, should I just make a ground wire from the mount to the chassis? Maybe that would help my SWR rating

Well you need to keep grounds short..so try grounding it out to one of the bolts that holds the rail on. That's how mine is, and seems to work ok with my shitty non-tunable antenna.

Okay. I'll try that first. I'm moving the antenna from the drivers side to the passenger side since I moved the radio to the other side. I'll look at that in the morning

This might be another myth, but I've always been told you want the antenna on the same side as the other people in your convoy.
True or not, I don't think I've ever seen a semi with the antenna on the passenger side, and they have (had?) to depend on those things.

Pretty much purely aesthetic from the stuff I've read.
