Where the cup holders are? If its not loud enough, just put an external speaker on it

On the underside of the armrest/lid. I could always turn the volume up or crack the lid.

Huh. Never though about that for a location. I put mine on the side of the console near the cup holders.

The external speaker out looks like a standard 1/8" 3.5mm Jack. I wonder if I could just run it through the AUX input on my stereo and through the speakers.

Are you giving it away or selling??? Make sure it goes to a worthy 1st Gen if you're giving it away.

I'm trying to get some info back from this one dude who had an incredibly good accessory. Not sure if it was specific to the Midland 75-822, but it was a handheld mic/speaker that boosted the volume WAY up.

    crap bolted and welded together....
Ben, you should be able to fit it in the console. I have mine in their. Cut a whole and slid my cb down in it, tucked away very nice. Ran an external speaker under the dash so i can leave the console closed and still hear it.

Yea, but without projectors you blind oncoming traffic. Projectors still put out more light than the halogen bulbs. When I need daylight I have my Hella 4k's I slapped HID bulbs in. :D

Saw you this morning Jason heading west bound on hwy 26. You're up early! Also saw Bill twice now on Canyon Rd waiting to turn in to Fred Meyer. I don't think he recognizes my truck :(

That sounds like exactly what I need if I mount it in the center console! I may wait until I have a permanent install planned out, but for now I think I'll just use some strong adhesive-backed velcro, and stick it here so it can be used on-demand.

I was thinking that too, but I like the idea of it being on the under-side of the lid, then it will be out the way and I can have more room for useless shit in my center console. These are the two areas where I was thinking, and if it's too quiet, either track down the mic/speaker combo Mike was talking about or run an ext. line to my AUX in. Thoughts?

If the cb is small enough I would turn it and put it against the front of the center console box. That is where I have mine. I'll post a pic later tonight. I have found it takes. Up minimal space there and is still easily accessible.

It certainly dampens the volume being in there. Does your cb have a phono out or somethin that could go into the trucks aux input. I don't think mine does but that is a great idea and something I would really like to do to mine

I don't think mine will be small enough to mount sideways in the little cargo bin under the climate control area. Plus, there are some weird angles there, since it is not a box shape. My CB does have the external speaker out, so I could theoretically plug into my stereo. I just have to get it wired up and make sure everything works before I get to involved and start drilling holes.
