Nah, plan is to LT mine sometime after college. I can pick up a little '85 pickup for less than it would cost to throw a straight axle under the Taco.

There's a pretty awesome powerline trail there. Go down 202 and head east into bonneville powerline road. Somewhere around there I found the trail, difficult enough that I probably should have had another truck with me.

Fort Stevens is also fun. I haven't really been in Astoria itself except for those two places.

I'm not sure about them. The James that disappeared had one on his 1st gen, it looked like it could not seal well in dusty/wet environments compared to a traditional top. :notsure:

Dually or no, that's just bad news for those 2WD Dodges.

EDIT: how does that guy have front recovery points?? Is that special for the duallys?

I don't know, guess so. They weren't the hook type, a little different but nice. Made for tow strap eyes. I was fighting for traction... LoL Almost had to air down. I still think its impressive to get a dually stuck in the first place, 2WD or not, its a dually, thats alotta tire on the road... or sand.

There's a ridiculous amount of weight in the front, and he's running around on tread that's similar to a semi truck :p

Of course :) Although the guy that came in ahead of me in the 89 burban with 44's wasnt, he went onto the beach via the parking lot LoL. I wanted to do it, but I knew better. There was a sheriff there keeping an eye on us when we were towing people out. There was a stupid focus there too. Tide was coming up and people were starting to worry. For some stupid reason I just love barrelling through the softest shit when I setup for a tow. Its my way of saying... "you dumbass" :p

Ive always thought they looked good. And a hell of a lot cheaper then a fiberglass shell

Ive wondered that. Especially with all the rain we get
