You sure about that? That looks like a .223 round standing up.

The standing round is a 30-06 for the Mauser bolt action rifle to the far right, not the AR.

Bought in bulk, you can get 5.56 for 35-40 cents a round.
.223 is a few cents cheaper, but I never bother. I sighted my optics with 62 gr 5.56 and it's dead nuts on target, so I stick with it.

You'd be surprised at what people don't know or think they know - just sayin' in general.
It seems odd to be .22 because a standard AR size is .308, 5.56, or .223, with the last being the most commonly purchased due to price and availability. Having more than one AR and not a .223 is awfully uncommon. Additionally, the magazine is the size of a .223. To make it a .22 it would have a large spacer inside. Finally, .22 and .223 is pretty close in terms of words. The owner could have misheard and continued to call it the wrong thing, had a slip of the 'tongue', or so on. You wouldn't believe how many people think FN-FALs are AKs or how many times I have to correct people about birdshot vs buckshot when they see a hole I shot in something. As a result, my question was valid.

EDIT: I forgot a point - a 5.56 can fire .223, so no wonder he wouldn't buy one, lol.

Why you gettin' all up on my nuts, boy? Where's your gun stash?

Going to plug in all my gas receipts... got my first one from the 255's. Seems like it's going to be awfully low, but it was all city...

For the record, my .22 is a S&W 15-22 (http://www.smith-wesson.com/webapp/...4_750001_750051_757786_-1_757784_757784_image). Form, function and usage is identical to an actual AR-15, except for the caliber. it costs 3 cents a round to shoot instead of 40 cents. It makes economical sense for practice and instruction. At a distant glance, the magazine looks similar to a .223/5.56 magazine, but rest assured, it is significantly different. Believe me....I'm not a rookie to firearms. And for yet more re-assurance, here's a picture of my 7 year old son shooting it in which you can actually see the brass flying

Makes sense to me. I would still think it would be fun as hell to have a full auto .22 Uzi or Skorpion if such a thing exists. Cheap rounds and hilarious to shoot. :p

In reality though, my next gun is going to be something that's a bit easier to carry than my .40 Baretta. Doesn't fit in the pants so nice.

Hmm, ended up with 16.8 MPG with about 90% city driving. Not terrible considering I've been driving aggressive lately to get to work.

No, I usually try to keep my RPM below 2000 and I am really light on the gas pedal. My family says I drive like a grandma

Are you guys getting season passes to anywhere? Last year I got one to Meadows and as you might know, last season sucked big ones for snowboarding. The previous year I got a season pass to Timberline with better luck. I think I will probably just use military discount on day passes this season. And I don't know if you guys would be interested but a couple years ago a bunch of my Navy buddies took a trip to Mt Bailey for some wicked CAT skiing in avalanche terrain! Best time I have ever had on a snowboard! If we can somehow get about 10 people to go, it would be a lot of fun.

    I'm down.

I can hold my own on pretty much any run. Not afraid of double blacks, but don't expect much more than a tail grab in the park.

Lol no worries - i just don't wana sit and wait for an hour to find out you went face first into a tree :D
    Just playing!

I'm not a big park person anymore, i may hit jumps or rails here and there with a minor grab, but since i broke my hip im deathly afraid of landing on it again.
