take a shovel with you. if you start to dig into the soft sand, dig out trenches that you can get a little momentum up before trying to climb out of holes.

if you have 4wd you dont need to air down. Of course if your not feeling confident your welcome to. Also stay out of the water and try to.avoid wet sand. The salt content doesnt cope well with vehicles.

Hell yeah man, good to hear. I realized my phrasing was a little confusing in my post, I hope you weren't banging on it with the hairdryer :p

depending where you go you might need a flag or offroad permit like Moe said, other places you just have to stay on x side of the sign.. bullshit LOL

Joe, first check where the water mostest from. I take it the seal from the fan exit isn't solid. Depending how much water danger their is you either A) need to replace a large chunk of the sheetrock/drywall, or B) if their isn't much water damage make sure leaks are fixed and ample time to try. Then patch the hole.

Do you own the house or rent? If you rent, call the landlord ASAP, as it will be their responsibility.

First, you need to determine where the water is coming in from. Most likely a vent on the roof that you may need to seal/re-tar.

Next, determine how much of the ceiling is damaged, and make sure any load-bearing wood isn't damaged or rotting. You will most-likely need to cut out the damaged area, since it won't simply dry out. You can use a Sawzall to cut the damaged sheetrock and replace with a new piece and spackle it up.

I don't have much experience with home repairs, but I hope this helps a little bit. Good luck.

I didn't read it like that. I read it like "heat your plastic up, take hammer to inside and push out"

Always a good idea. Especially if you don't know what you're doing

if you do decide to fix it yourself, make sure to get out all the wet sheetrock and any insulation that got wet. even after insulation dries out, it loses its insulating value. any sheet rock that got wet is liable to get moldy, and once that is in the walls, it is bad news.

having the vent resealed professionally isn't a bad idea. fixing the drywall is easy enough to do on your own if you want.
