Well, I'm going to be pulling out my complete 4.10 third and front 4.10s hopefully by February.... so that could possibly be an option. Unfortunately, doesn't have a locker.

Good luck - from the limited dealer experience I've had, it is wise to be persistent and firm in what you want done.

Thanks man. tons of metal in the fluid, so it's probably the ring, pinion, or spider gears. We'll see how it goes.

Just want to throw it out there...

Thanks to Chickenmunga for being totally honest and upfront whilst selling an iPhone to me. Definitely went out of your way with getting pics of the phone, providing a tracking #, and staying in communication with me.

My trust in total strangers was somewhat diminished, especially after some asshat stole her phone last week...

    + 1 to you sir.

Met some great people through TW - from Kodiak/Anchorage, all the way to Seattle and Bellingham.

    End rant.

Right on Jake! Every now and then you get shitty lemons that make the good batch seem bad.

Yeah, Mike is a stand up guy! I have nothing but good things to say about the guy. Very knowledgeable and helpful in and out of the trails. Most of the guys that are active in this thread are good to go..the others I just haven't met yet but I'm sure they're good to go as well.

Finally getting around to sanding down my '85 so I can repaint it. Automotive paint prep sucks donkey balls.

Oh, saw some sort of UTV on mattracks getting towed down HWY47 toward Gaston a couple days ago. Maximum level jealousy.

To bad they cost as much as the bike itself lol. Have you seen the youtube vids for them? Soooo sick! If only I lived in Alaska or Montana...or something. Might be able to justify it then.

That reminds me. Need to check my valve and piston clearances on my bike.

Hey guys, thanks for the kind words. We have a pretty awesome community here.
Ben, I think you have what I basically had. The rear end in some of these were faulty due to a bad ring gear install during manufacture. Same thing happened to Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue's FJC. I was replaced under warranty, no questions asked (for that matter, I didnt even know about it - Royal Moore actually informed me and said they wanted to take care of it!).
I know the guys here in Oly leave a bit to be desired, so if you get hassled remember that you can call toyota care which can pretty much force the dealer. Also the dealer in auburn seemed pretty good if you can get out there

Thanks for the info Mike. I haven't heard back from them as of yet.

The only reason I am nervous about it not getting covered due to "abuse" is all the body damage on my truck and the aftermarket parts...it is obvious that it has been wheeled.

Sandy is being cooler about the whole thing than I am...I basically told her if they refuse to do it under warranty, that I will be getting a new rear diff. and doing it myself.

So, let me know if you guys find a 3rd member FS with 3.73 gears and an ARB locker (RD129).

I'm not sure they can use that as an excuse. They have to prove that your usage caused the issue (like if the bent driveline caused it). I also know that AllPro had a failed rear and Toyota didn't want to fix it - AP took legal action and won.
I've been lucky enough that I haven't had any complications, so I don't know how to deal with it if things go south.
For the time being, be patient and don't agonize. Allow people to treat you right, and if they don't, you can start exploring your options. Luckily, I think you have people that can carpool you to work, so at least no worries there. Slow and steady is the way to go.
