Yeah. I can hear it when accelerating but it's more noticeable when I left off the gas.

Soooo... just kinda jumping into this. But the things I would check first...

    - Nothing in the driveshaft/joints
    - Excessive play/wear at any joints
    - Carrier bearing worn/shot?
    - Manually turn the rear wheels (no brake, neutral) and see if there's any resistance or such.
    - Pull the rear diff cover off and inspect gearing for any damage. Check fluid for shavings or metal "paste"
    - Pull the drum brakes apart, inspect.

From there... then I'd start being more worried and moving on to the bigger stuff...
    - T-case
    - Transmission

 Why didn't I do think of this? I heard if water gets in your 3rd member it can ruin the gears/parts inside, is this true? I'm thinking when I washed my truck this one time I sprayed my rear axle down and that water went inside through the differential breather because after that is when I started hearing the noise but it wasn't as bad at first.

Not sure if I posted these before. During a wet season down in SoCal I had to set up comm for a field op and had the hummers loaded up with a bunch of comm gear. PFCs and LCpls were driving and ground guiding up the muddy hill when they decided to get both hummers stuck  Cpl Saechao to the rescue with his Tacoma

joe, entirely possible if the diff was hot. one of the first things i did was the breather relocation to prevent that from happening at water crossings and such

If you don't draw blood, you're doing it wrong!
If water gets in your diff while the breather is open, it can cause problems and ultimately lead to failure. Usually that's in extreme cases where the water is muddy/silty, but regardless, doing the diff. breather extension is highly recommended.

I would do what Kyouto suggested and spin the wheel by hand to hear/feel if there's any resistance or bad bearings that you can pinpoint.

Just off the top of my head, I would check the carrier bearing and wheel bearings.

Another thought I had is your catalytic converter might be bad. Did you take any hard impacts recently that hit the Y-Pipe? It may be the ceramic baffles in the cat are broken and causing that "rapsy" sound when you let of the gas pedal.

Good luck, and awesome pics of you saving the Hummers!!!

Look at the coordinates. I use that map on one screen and use google maps on the other. Just go to where you want on google and drop a LatLang marker, then check it out on the NOAA map
