What did it jam on you or something, now you hold a life long vendetta against them

If you want to spend a grand and some change, then yeah they're one of the more respected 1911 makers out there

Otherwise just get whatever your research tells you

Guys Im thinking of taking my girlfriend out camping next week because she has some time off and I can take days when I need (small business ownership perks). Not sure where to go though! Want to stay reasonably close. I am located in Puyallup/Tacoma. Anyone have any good suggestions?

It didn't feel right at all. I hate guns that have that really big tail to the bottom of the trigger, and it just felt... cheesy, I guess. I personally felt really wrong about the experience. I thought I'd be all over the place with it, but when I pulled down the target, it was the best grouping of the day almost.
My worst for that day was a H&K. It felt solid, but ergonomics were idiotic.
Favorites were the Glock 26 and the XD line.

I have not had an oportunity to shoot one yet but I love the feel of it. I have to agree with the trigger statement, but that is a minor modification from any good gunsmith and I would want the gun tuned to me anyway. What was the selling point for me was conversations with some of the local LEOs and current military men who sing its praises as a concealed carry weapon. Well that and I am not nor have ever been a Glock fan.

You might consider Rainbow Falls State Park just west of Chehalis on Hwy 6.

Ehhhh...if it's super cheap, like $250 go for it but realize it is going to take a very high speed 'smith to get it to work ("power" extractor and feed ramp issues). I'll bet you a box of beer you can't get a whole mag to fire without jamming out of the box. Forget factory support for anything, very horrible customer service (try calling them) and just all around poor craftsmanship. You'd think after 100 years of this platform being around anyone could make one that worked but it ain't so. 10 years ago it was a great company, I don't know what happened lately but it went in the crapper.

If you're thinking of shooting at all with her then I'd say any of the lower foothills of our National Forests... either way it's gonna be cold and/or wet!

When I was in Iraq we had the option to purchase a Para 1911 (can't remember which one exactly) I just remember it was a 45 cal and the magazine held 14 or 15 rounds by laying them almost side by side in the mag. Because of this width it had massive jamming issues and they were complete garbage... We got told by the Special Forces unit we were working with to completely avoid them.

SF-45. We got a "deal" for $750 and the unit logo gets laser etched on the slide. Makes an awesome paperweight or looks cool in the shadowbox, but worthless otherwise.

Yeah that sounds about right. Luckily when our unit was trying to set it up, Para never connected us back and they looked elsewhere and I ended up with a Sig Sauer 1911 in a 45 cal for about the same price as the Para:D

I need to shoot it more. Only put about 200 rounds through it total.

Yeah, I am pretty happy with it. I just wish I could find some freaking ammo for it. I am sitting on about 300 rounds right now, but can't seem to find any lately and it is going up in price quite a bit since when I first got the pistol a year and a half ago...

Yea, I've been reading a number of reviews. They either work flawlessly or its a complete nightmare. Really a shame. Its an interesting idea. Sounds like the concept is great, just miserable quality control. Just have to keep an eye out for a cheap, old one.

Got an iTunes giftcard I haven't used since Christmas... not sure if I want to finally buy some chill-out music or look for some new stuff. For those interested, here's what I've been poking around at... I'm incredibly schizo with my tastes :goingcrazy:

Did one BBQ/smokehouse place, when I swung through to pick up my rear diff a few months ago.. Best BBQ ever, by far! Smoked Mac n' cheese was their special that night.

Really small place, kind of a hipster vibe to it; totally forget what it was called though. Hopefully someone else will chime in..
