If you don't draw blood, you're doing it wrong!
All good info. I have read that the "beefier" CVs are intended for use with Lockers, and are much stronger, but as Mike and Bob said, then you run the risk of damaging/breaking your diff components rather than the CV.

A lot of guys have done the boot-slide mod (BSM) to keep the ribs more separated to avoid rubbing. Others have even taken of the metal clamps in favor of Zip-ties (so the boot slides off when at too extreme of an angle, rather than tearing or ripping).

I don't understand how someone hasn't invented a CV that utilizes a sheer pin. That would make life so frigging beautiful.

I guess. Always annoyed the hell out of me. I feel like there would be a big chunk of change to make if someone introduced one to the market. Beyond the cost of buying replacement CV's, it would be the ease and speed of replacing a sheer pin as opposed to replacing a whole damn CV.

Found out today that my trucks cloaking device still works. Came about an inch from having a car trade paint with the right side of my truck when he tried to share the fast lane with me. I smiled a lil bit when I let him know that my air horn also works well.

    Just throwing this out there:

Anyone near portland/surrounding area have chainlink fence panels they don't need/want let me know. I need to build a dog run outside. I'm trying to make this thing about 18'x6'x6'... if i don't find some panels i'll probably just use wood and chicken wire :)

After having worked with chain link fencing before, use chicken wire and wood posts. If you don't have the stretching tool for chain link, getting the fence tight is a pain in the ass. My dad borrowed a come along to do it. I will say that if you are doing it with a come along, get a piece of chain with binding hooks to put onto the flat piece that holds the fencing and put the come along (or winch from your truck) onto the middle of the chain. This pulls the flat bar a little more evenly.

I've got a chain link dog run/kennel deal. about 8-10' long by maybe 4-6' wide has a door and rafters so you can put a tarp or put a roof on it.

for what its worth, I voted for the person who contributes to the community in a positive aspect and hasn't had the luck we all wish for. honestly can't remember seeing that guy in a memorable post.

Nope. All his look like bragging posts to me. I'm not going to say I deserve it, because there are a lot of people who are much more deserving.

    fuck that noise.

not to be a douche, as he put a lot of effort and work into his truck, but you don't give a grant to someone who already is done with college, you give one to someone who is in or about to be in.
