Isn't D4D the diesel swap Prado engine from that co based in Texas?

Yeah, I think D4D is just the basic designation for the diesels in both the Hilux & Prado. Prado’s might be a bit different tho. Crazy cost for that conversion & it still wouldn’t be legal here would it?

I’d assume it is legal, I don’t see why it wouldn’t be. And yes, you’re right. D4D is just badging used to show a diesel motor. You get one if you do the $30k swap lol and probably some stickers.

I’m seriously considering buying a season pass for the first time in years. It looks like forecasters are calling for above average precipitation and below average temperatures this winter.

With limited ticket sales and the reservations it might be a smart move. My local mountain is giving preference to pass holders.

Can’t buy unlimited season passes at meadows anymore. Past the deadline. Only limited mid week and value passes for sale now.

They’re limiting passes and ticket sales due to covid.

Limited ticket sales you say? Sweet! Maybe lines won't be such a shit show at Meadows this season. Went trifecta do to covide lotteries at most of the resorts this year. Got my Fusion Pass, Meadows Unlimited and Batchelor pass. My goal is 100 days this season. I was cut short at 77 days last season due to the Vid. Hope to atleast top that this season which could happen if we open around Thanksgiving like they're saying. Looking like a great winter shaping up

Damn that’s like $2.5k in passes! Last night Meadows also announced they’re pushing their opening date out because they won’t have enough terrain/space to allow for social distancing in lift lines. No more thanksgiving opener.

I’m guessing I’ll be on touring gear till December.

Thats fine Timberline is scheduled to open the 25th and touring some back country is always a great option. Already been up twice and hiked up to the top of Palmer earlier this week. It was actually pretty good and we found some nice deep veins to ride.

Good lord! You're either a) retired or b) work at a hospital or somewhere with compress work week doing 12 hrs shifts.

Lol I'm happy if I get to make it up there at least twice a season.

Not sure if your married but, I used to pull 100+ days of making turns yearly and at one point I considered jumping on the TAY train. I worked at Snoqualmie pass from 16 till I was about 28. Just a ski/board bums life. For about 5, almost 6yrs in a row I was able to log 120-160 days of shredding. It helps when you work there and also have a part-time residence on the hill. I was able to do that also while not booting up during peek holidays and breaks. Then I got a girlfriend and snowboarding became a distant memory for me. It's been probably 5 years since I strapped a board to my feet. I got married and had a kid in there somewhere too. :anonymous:

Hopefully with my son, I'll be able to get back at it again and teach him to snowboard. I'll just start buying gear for him I guess and the wife will have to let me take him up. :D

The best part about living on the hill is pass closures. They usually keep or have enough staff locally to run one base area or 2 and then you have it all to yourself. Typically when the road is closed, it's probably because it dumped 3' overnight and it's gonna keep dumping. I miss the days of waist+ deep runs, almost snorkel deep runs at times.
