I have one of those, because sometimes my work takes me obscure places, they don't work that well tbh. Not well enough to have a giant dingleberry like that. I tried both antennas, the big and small one, both work the same

    Kickass departure angle!

Agreed! Last thing I need when we’re camping is my wife scrolling on instaface the whole time.

My two favorite spots to fish near the house have zero cell service. Coincidence I think not:rofl:

@Bertw192 , @Wyckedan Jeeze, you really don't like this guy, huh? lol

I'd say it is a good "Overlanding" setup. Hopefully he just started a fun trip. Doubt he'd have the hitch carrier loaded otherwise. Lets hope someone spots him again coming back in the other direction in 2 weeks with some pin striping through a layer of dust, dirt, and grime.

And for those ripping the hitch carrier... i can think of like ONE spot on the WABDR that might possibly hit (that you can't simply drive around).

And finally, the cell booster. So far I've loved mine for keeping cell reception when streaming tunes from my phone over blewett pass since I managed to rip my radio's antenna off and never fixed it, or phone reception just in case in Nevada's great basin. Also came in handy up in the mountains when my wife finished her latest book on her kindle. Was able to download another one and continue relaxing and reading during a few days camping. Or how about sitting up at the Middle Fork trailhead and actually getting a cell call out when the radios couldn't get over the mountain during a Search and Rescue mission.

So for now, I'm giving this guy the benefit of the doubt. I'd absolutely rock that setup.

You can make every justification you want... but I see zero need to strap a gas tank to my window, a poop shovel to my unnecessary ladder, and most every other goofy thing this guy has done. You may be right. Maybe he just got finished with his build and he's ready to put it to the test. But I'd bet dollars to donuts that he's doing every bit of it for looks. Which he's entitled to do. And likewise, I'm going to mock him, which I'm entitled to do.

Regarding the cell phone booster. Sometimes disconnecting is important. I know you've built your rig to bring the comforts of home with you, but you might try disconnecting that stuff once in a while and enjoy the solitude.

I think reading a book (albeit on a Kindle) in a hammock in the mountains counts as enjoying solitude :) She just wasn't prepared for how much she'd be able to read without all the other distractions! hahaha.

And sadly, my last trip "camping" was in my grandparents pasture over Christmas. I sure hope I can get back out soon. Bethel Ridge is calling... but still two months til the snow is gone :(

How well does the cell booster work? I agree with what others say about disconnecting but id rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it. Could be a literal lifesaver if it works well.
