well not much of a story for this year. focused on elk, had a hell of a bad season. spent opening weekend in my best spot lots of sign, had one bull screaming a little. found the biggest rub i have ever seem. then the storms moved in and the place caught on fire due to lighting!!!!! i spent the rest of season trying new areas. on Saturday got invited to try a new area on the coast, the morning was slow but the afternoon heated up.

we spotted some elk in a field made some plans and went after them, it was not 10 minutes later and i had stalked to within 48 yards of a cow feeding broadside so took her. it her a little low but my broadhead took out the bottom of her heart. she ran about 50 yards stood there for a few and then fell over.

on Sunday i went back with my friend to try to get him one and we got into a good herd of elk 3 bulls all screaming but it got dark before we could close the deal. it was still a good time.

here is my cow, meat in the freezer is better then tag soup.

I see. I think I'll end up in the Sadle Mtn area as usual. I haven't been hunting in about 5 years since I left back in 06 for the military..first year back home. Excited! Hope there's snow when my time comes.

Nice kill Chris. We are getting ready for deer in Murderers Creek (rifle) this weekend, then we have 4 hare tags in Flagtail (same unit, different name).

We chased the hell out of em last year, (elk) but did not bag one.

Joe, lemme know when you head up to Saddle, I may hang with ya!
