I've ridden a ton out there, and camped plenty of times at Coos Bay Dunes, but never driven the truck out there other than reaching the campsite. Florence might actually be my least favorite of the three main Oregon Dunes areas, but it's probably the best for a pickup. Hopefully I'll find out next Saturday.

Ive driven both our rigs at florence and reeds port. Florence doesnt really have giant dunes but theres cool little trails and plenty of open area which can be tricky in a truck because of the hidden drop offs.

Sorry, couldn't help it. You can drive around most any dune without it getting too crazy. Definitely a lot of stuff no Tacoma is going to make it up, though, lol.

The "home office" for the week... Can't wait to get out on the sand. Umpqua Dunes right out the window!!

Got off work, hopped in the SxS and did a quick lap of the Dunes. Saw 2 other SxSs and 4 quads on the 12.5 mile loop. It's empty out there. Little chilly too.

So I'm not sure the etiquette for this kinda thing; but I am 3hrs+ away; we'll probably leave about 8-830am on Saturday and are expecting to arrive at Florence around noon.

I'm going to stop by the Safeway there to grab some last minute essentials.

Idk when/where the "meetup" is, but that's my plan this far. Wife, dog and I will be throwing up a tent on the sand somewhere Saturday night and plan to peel off a little after lunch time Sunday.

If there's anything else a bit more concrete lmk.

    Can't wait!

If the weather is nice, I'll prolly just head straight to the Goose Pasture OHV Staging Area off Sand Dunes Road. This is also the South Jetty Sand Camping entrance. My wife is hoping to bring her quad so I'll just unload over there and be ready when y'all get there. If weather is crappy, we can leave the toys at home and meet you at Safeway. Weather is looking not so good right now, but we'll see. We'll just be out for a good dune cruise for a few hours, then we'll head back to Winchester Bay at some point (not camping).

I hope the weather is halfway decent and not just a down pour the whole time. If we were mudding then sure it could rain all it wants but not in the sand.
