have and has been approved but it's got to get here and the Air Drop Tankers are currently grounded do to they type of inversion layer (low hanging smoke over both the drop areas and the lakes they scoop from). We're taking sub mile advisability in most of these areas.

Forwarded notes from Clackamas county commissioner briefing on friday 9/11/20

Here is some info from a briefing today at the EOC with our 2 senators and our teams from the Sheriffs Dept and Fire Services.
We have now been declared a National emergency by the federal Government here in Oregon. We are the second highest priority. This will expedite the release of more resources to help fight the fires. AS you know, we added a curfew to the emergency declaration to help our law enforcement teams in Clackamas County deal with illegal behavior. Every lead re: alleged fire starters setting fires has been investigated so far. There has been no evidence found that proves that this is happening.Be careful of internet rumors. However, if you see something suspicious please report it.
We are still trying to get more info as to the actual on the ground fire conditions but the smoke has made that difficult. Fire services are still working on that. There is no change in zone status at this time. Clackamas Town Center is taking evacuees with RV.s and the Portland Convention center is taking people also.
On a related note, Sunrise Water Authority is asking people to stop all out door watering. They cannot keep up and are depleting resources that could be needed in an emergency. Frankly, watering your lawns won't help so lets keep the resources where they are needed. If you live where you get lots of debris from trees, especially in your roof gutters, clean them! Many houses catch fire because dried leaves catch a spark and light off the house.
Finally, I want to give a major shout out to Law enforcement and firefighters working many long hard hours to protect the citizens of Clackamas County.
A special note is for the staff at the EOC- many of them have been staffing there as well as CCom 24-7 for over 6 months since February when we declared an emergency because of Covid 19.

by the looks of those pictures they are at evacuation time, no human can breath that smoke and soot for extended periods of time without damage, especially the elderly or have breathing issues, I hope they have plans on dealing with that. I hope they have plans and resources in place if those fires start sweeping thru communities.

I’m guessing 65% of Clackamas county is in level 3 evac status... think about that... 300+ square miles
