Been catching a bunch of steelhead since the first of the year. Looks like it's going to be a good return this winter.
Also getting some use out of my new cat.

Do you have a recipe? I’ve tried the 7up thing years ago when we used to keep them. Never thought it was like lobster, but still interested in other’s recipes. The best for me is battered and fried, fish n chips. It was definitely nice to bring one home after so many years!

Hmm, I've never heard of the 7up thing. I do have a recipe somewhere but I usually just wrap it in foil and either bake it or grill it. I'm guessing you already know how easily it can dry out - I try avoid having that happen.

    Looks like a solid setup.

I am not sure if I just didn't try hard enough in the past but it seems like green is the new go to color. I was always a purple or pink but the green and green/black has been amazing lately.

.......so I spied some Salmon rising with the Black Rock Bass feeding on the surface off of Pacific City Oregon last Sunday. A quick pinch of the 1oz Kastmaster barbs, one cast and BAMM!! Only two as I always cut one hook off for easy release. She took 5 or so runs and almost spooled me on a few of them.

Heard of a few winter steelhead being caught near me so gave it a shot last weekend. No luck with steelhead but coho were all over the spinners we were throwing - can't keep any of those so quick picture and back they went!
