Was on the Sandy yesterday. River was in great shape and color and thought for sure I would get into one, but nothing. Have only hooked and released two natives this year. Not looking good. This has by far been my worst start to steelhead on the sandy. I keep telling myself that they are running late, but this is ridiculous. Will give it a go Wednesday and Thursday.

    Tight lines everyone!

    lol, no problem.
The back yard is on a small river here in WA state. :D With myself, and my 3 other neighbors. We have over a mile of private river front. It takes me longer to walk to the mail box than to the river.

This week should start getting really good in all WA and OR streams for Steelhead.

Since buying the place a year ago...more people have wanted to become my friend lol.

If anyone happens to come across a good white water rated 1 person pontoon boat, let me know.

From personal experience the Dave Scadden boats are pretty great and I believe they refer to them as “whitewater rated”. Water master is also a good little brand as well.

Found one this morning on my 3rd cast. But then covered a lot of water without another bite.

All depends on where I'm fishing, and what the water is doing.

If I could only fish 1 method, its drift fishing with corky and eggs. But since I took a couple years off from fishing, I don't have any eggs.
Winter native steelhead love those bobber and pink worms. Winter hatchery and hatchery summer runs, not so much.

To me, as stupid as they are, drifting soft beads does work. The fish I got this morning was on a soft bead.

You like fishing the Sandy? I went to MHCC and would always run down to fish more times than not. Did really good tossing spinners. I didn't like coming back to school smelling like bait lol.
I myself like spinners over spoons but they both work very well in the right water.
