That would work. When painting something that heats and cools so much, the prep work is most important. Start with a CLEAN surface. This means washing it of all dirt, drying it, then don't touch it with your hands! (Your fingers have oils in them) You can then apply a good primer spray. After it dries then you can apply your high-temp paint on top. Doing it this way will make it last the longest.

I admit I do like black on a truck, but I wanted something unique for my Tacoma, so I had a custom blue paint made for it. Of course all of the chrome is slowly disappearing, to be replaced by all black trim.

Thanks for the tips! If I could afford a custom paint, and black wasn't already nice enough, I would have gone for a custom blue, as well! I see some blue SUVs around that are the best blue ever! And you don't see them often...fav color is the type of blue those vehicles have, and it would look great on a taco. Especially if my taco was that ugly tan color (sand something? Don't know the name of the color). That is the only taco color I truly think looks hideous on such a purrrrdy rig. But as I mentioned above, to each their own :)

Oregon plates are bomb! :) they are all nature-like, and purdy haha, and they do fit perfectly cuz you should be all up in those woods with a taco!

This is the custom blue that I had made for my truck. The base is 2008-2010 Dodge Viper Blue Pearl. I then added my own custom mix of additional metal flake. .004" Patriot blue, and .008" Cobalt blue. This means that there are 3 different metal flakes. It looks really cool close up.
