What size pipe is being used? Might recommend 3 bars, vs 2, base on bar and tent size.

2 bars, 1.75" outside diameter. My tent weighs 225, I'm 270, then my wife and dog... :anonymous: They're normal size though.

@tonered you have structural background, right?

I'm thinking 3 bars, to error on the side of caution.

Yeah. Looking at the gauge of the mounts and diameter, I'd go with three for a bunch of reasons. No bent sheet metal for that purpose at least.

I would see what @JimSnell could come up with if you want just two.

How much are you looking to spend on a Prinsu? Because I've never seen a Prinsu sell for as cheap as those Hooke racks.

I'd be a little leery of the Hooke rack, being powdercoated steel. Seems very likely to rust, and being out of sight, probably wouldn't be caught in time.

I’ve seen nothing but good things with them. I feel like if. You could find a prinsu for a tad more used it would be worth it but brand new prices... you’ll get a lot more for your money with Hooke
