Damn, that's way sweeter than anything I've been looking at! I definitely can't spend a grand on a kayak right now though. I'm trying to find something decent for under $400. I could definitely see myself getting a nice kayak like that in a few years though.

Orange or yellow kayaks don't do it for me unfortunately. I'm hoping to find something in green, blue or red if possible.

Yeah they have a few kayaks on their website that would be perfect. Can't ship them though and no stores in the area have them in stock. I called one of them today and the guy said they can't even see what other stores have them outside of the PNW and so they can't ship them to the store. He said they had a few kayaks in stock about 6 weeks ago but nothing since then...

They sell burgers. REI is 1000 times better you should definitely go there instead. :anonymous:

Haha REI is really dropping the ball in the kayak department! Last I checked (last night) they only had 2 kayaks available and they were inflatable.

About 15 years ago, I was in my early to mid-20's working in a lab as the only guy. The other workers were women in their 50's - 60's. I was wanting to buy something sporting related and went to a work computer and went to dicks.com. It wasn't for the store, and those women may have fainted if they saw what popped up. I guess they weren't monitoring what people were looking at on the work computers or I made have had some 'splaining to do.

Or maybe those ladies would have been the main suspects?

Not just REI, not just kayaks, a lot of out door recreational equipment is sold out because of Covid-19 and obviously the season. For example, bikes. Good luck finding one right now in store, a lot of places are wiped clean. REI sold something like 33,000 in a single day back in May. Demand is extremely high right now.

I got two from Dick’s last Sunday, but had to drive to Salem to pick them up curbside.

I just went to REI in Alderwood on Friday. I got there right at 10 am and a line was starting to grow. I tried going the previous Sunday around 2 pm and the line was around the building. These are weird times, to say the least.

What kayak did you get? I don't see why they can't ship one to a local store or even tell me where the closest one in stock is. The first person I talked to sounded like she was 16 and struggled answering even basic questions. Then she transferred me to an older guy who made it out like technology was the devil because his computer was hard to deal with...

Your not kidding we took our boy to the local bike shop to pick out a new BMX for his birthday and he had his choice between the 3 BMX bikes in the entire shop. Usually they are stacked in there like cord wood.

They had 4 online last Sunday morning in Salem and like 7 in Eugene. We bought 2. I think they all sold fairly quickly. Make sure you select the color to see if there are any within 100 miles.

REI looked like it was ransacked on Friday. Place looks worse than a Walmart after Black Friday.
