True. But your comment about "Lunar Mist", is a reference to a color that's only offered on the 3rd gen. Unless you 1st gen boys are doing a repaint.

Lunar rock is 3rd gen version/tribute to lunar mist. Both good colors imo!

Throwing these out there once more then off to CL with non TW prices.

$350 TRD off road take offs with 50% tread. No TPMS, lugs or Valve stems included.

$300 soft topper 5ft bed 2nd gen. Well used condition but still functional.

I know the trucks are different across generations but is there anything glaringly different about soft toppers from generation to generation? I’ve had a few folks inquire as to whether the one I’m selling is/was for a 2nd gen or a 3rd gen and I can’t tell just by looking at it.

yes... canopies and such will not fit between generations. The 3rd gen has taller bed sides (distance from top of cab to top of rail is smaller on the 3rd gen). Also, the forward bed rail of the 3rd gen sticks up above the side rails, whereas the 2nd gen does not.

    In short, no, a 2nd gen softtopper won't fit a 3rd gen.

Yes and no. The 2nd gen softopper is taller due to the shorter bed sides so on a 3rd gen the 2nd gen topper would be above the roof. I haven't confirmed but I believe they only make the 3rd gen model now wilhich fits the 2nd gen but sits slightly below the roof line.

See the link below the images in my post. That person shows a 2nd gen topper on a 3rd gen. But there's a post below his, that shows the 3rd gen topper on a 2nd gen. It looks pretty good to me.

But then I would need a roof rack....and I don't like them on trucks. First world problems
