Damn, this inflated market has me questioning if I should sell my truck.

I question it daily but my truck is paid off and I would want to get into another truck most likely so it would eventually cost me more.

Current KBB for my truck is 36k trade in. I paid less and have put 60k miles on it. The market is pretty crazy.

I feel like it’s a tougher choice with a 2nd gen. Lately I’ve had a few people give me cash offers in parking lots that I’ve turned down because I love my 2nd gen and am not a fan of the 3rd gen. If I sold I’d be looking to replace it with another 2nd gen but I know mine has been meticulously maintained since new vs anything I buy would be a crap shoot.

I feel like it’s a much easier choice with 3rd gens because you can sell and then just buy the same thing new in 6-12 months once things settle down

Also easier if you have a second car to drive in the interim. Otherwise the catch if it’s your only vehicle is you’re gonna have to buy in this inflated market as well.

I need to find a car for my 16 year old so he can drive to green river in the fall for classes. I really wish I had found one before the market went crazy.

I'd have to have a $40k cash offer to even consider it. The truck isn't worth that on paper, but all the mods, blood, sweat, no way to get into anything comparable without doing all the same work over again. Sure you could come out "ahead" now, but then what?

It's crazy! But I've noticed with 2nd gens the 12-15 models are selling for a lot more than our 05-11 models.

This. The only reason I can think of to justify selling a truck at this time is if you don’t need it and want to get into a smaller vehicle. If you sell a Tacoma and end up getting a newer tacoma, who’s really making money; you or the dealer since prices are inflated? I don’t really see the pricing of new Tacoma’s going down if there are customers willing to pay for it especially before hitting the lot. Just my two cents

Wow, suspiciously good price. And a pic of 6ft on a 5ft bed but posted that it’s 5.5feet long.. mas suspicion.

Edit: I’m dumb, I actually looked at the picture. I recommend others to do the same before posting stupid stuff.

Motorcycle market is also similar as there is no haggling on price and you are lucky if when you find the bike you want, it is gone by the time you call them.

hell yeah, thanks brother; she isn't pretty, but should be good enough to keep the excess dust/rain out of the bed during camping trips!
