Yeah, they're VERY new to the market (I may have been the first Tacoma with them, according to DT), so sizes are limited. I was almost disappointed that they didn't have the 3-peaks rating, but my KO2's had that rating, and they were nothing special (borderline awful) in the snow. I'm hoping they come out with more 16" sizes and won't be surprised if they end up with the 3-peak rating eventually. They have some cool tech and a ton of siping.

I'm not planning to do tons of playing in the snow, I just like having the rating in case chains are required on the pass and I can avoid putting them on if I have that rating :D But my Duratracs seem to handle snow/wet pretty well, so I've been happy. Hopefully won't need new tires for several years. I'm not one to change tires like socks, like a lot of you guys on here!!

From all of my reading... Duratracs are unmatched in the snow. I almost went that route, but just read too many negative reviews, regarding wear and noise.

I had 265/70r16 SLs and they never seemed as loud as my new 265/75r16 Es. Definitely a lot louder. I do think the lugs might be a bit deeper in this size, but I'm not sure. And when I say a lot louder, it's not like super swamper loud, lol. Just noticeably louder than my previous set, and my previous set was louder than the rugged fails.

My girlfriend has Duratracs on her rig and all I can say is they pretty much suck compaired to my Kenda Rts. Heaps noiser than mine, they do alright in the snow, but on wet roads you might as well put it in 4wd since they legit have zero traction. About to put some Kenda At2s on her rig since shes scared shitless with the Duratracs, even with half tread. The At2s are 3 peak rated, have a 60k mile warranty, and are cheap. My Kenda Rts are m+s rated, but not 3 peak rated only do to them not making them in one of the common sizes Ive heard.

Ignore me if you've already done so, but be sure to check the tire pressure on those Duratracs. Over inflated tires are a huge factor in loss of traction on wet roads. I skated off of an icy road on my KO's (in my old Jeep XJ) due to over inflated tires...

I hear people talk like this, and having very little experience with different tires, I'm always blown away. I have had zero issues with Duratracs in the rain, and they are FAR better than the KO2s I used to have on my last truck in the rain. For someone to say the Duratracs suck, but XYZ is awesome, I feel like XYZ must be somehow glueing themselves to the pavement or something if they are THAT much better, lol.

Slight exaggeration but you get where I'm going. Not saying your tires aren't that much better, just hard for me to get my head around an improvement like that.

I really wish I knew what air pressure to run in my tires :(

I upgraded to E rated due to hauling around the camper. Discount just put in the standard 35psi. I think I upped it to 50psi. Seemed to handle great on our first outing, but great is obviously relative.

A chalk test is really the only good way to know. Never trust what DT does... they put 41 psi in my E-loads and my truck is relatively light. I still need to dial in my air pressure, but I'm around 35 front and 32 rear.

They pretty much are that much better on wet roads, even coming from my gf who isn't nearly as experienced with vehicle handling and what not. Borderline dangerous getting onto highways, as the traction control is going bonkers the whole time. Chalked her tires and running 32psi front and rear. If the front end isn't plowing around corners, its the rear end kicking out or spinning. I can legit take corners twice as fast in mine before it plows or spins, and have to really throw the weight around to get it to slide.

I absolutely don't trust them, haha. But knowing I need higher psi to get up to the load rating I need... I know 35psi isn't enough. I'm running VERY heavy... obviously.
