Hmmm, not sure that all three would have helped:
Was at Alvord Desert Hot Springs in first week of Nov 2021, doing some "stunts" and possible documenting these stunts for a later date.
From the MASH units bunkers, you could clearly see that someone was stuck on the playa in the dark wet muck.
The line of light/dark on the playa was very clear, unless at night.
Nevertheless, dude walks up to our group and asks if anyone has a tow strap or a winch or shovel to get him out.
We state that we are on a short timeline but one guy offers up use of maxxtraxx boards and a shovel.
He is covered in that slick sticky clay mud and states he has been stuck for 2 days and slept in the SUV.
After about 2-3hours, he returns to the office at Alvord Hot Springs and submits to ask for help from the ranch owner.
    The rate = $400/hr
Owner gets him out, charges $800, then tows him straight to the Hot Springs parking lot with multiple cables that was more than 400' as I counted 4 cables.
He was driving a mid 90's exploder with street tires. dur....
He did return the maxxtraxx but where caked with clay and weighed about 50lbs each (we put them in the outlet of the soaking pools in the hot water stream, cleaned them right up).

Might require some trimming to fit.

It doesn't. Ply count rating doesnt mean how many plies there actually are. It's just a rating to show the load range.

If you aren't hauling a bunch of heavy stuff, squisher sidewall is better to conform over the rocks and obstacles. I've only run C range in mine. My 35s are c-range and weigh 64 lbs.

The nitto ridge grapplers I had were the same weight and tread depth for 285/70/17s for C and E range. The trail graps in 285/70/17s are the same depth for C/E range as well.

My C range 35/12.5/17 Goodyear MTRs have 21/32nd tread depth, same as the D range 315/70/17s.

    Not C to E, but definitely C to SL (285/70/17 Nitto RG's)

My point was, when looking at different load ratings of tires, especially when you're talking about OEM (typically reduced tread) to aftermarket tires, be sure to look up the tread depths. You may be getting less depth.
