I doubt that will change with finance guys. Jus more money for them. Finance mgr at my local Toyota dealer pulled up in a 2021 911 4s in miami blue. I asked him about it and he said it was his and not a dealer car. He was upset because he had to pay over msrp for it.

If your going to get buried in a rig make sure it’s a Toyota because you probably will be driving it until your grave.

Last time I was at a Toyota dealership ~last fall, they had 1 Tacoma on the lot, it was a Grey TRD Off-Road and the sticker was right around $55k with dealer markup. :bananadead:

It’s dumb but somebody will gladly buy it. Similar used trucks here are going for 36 - mid 50’s depending on mileage.

    Whats ADM? Adjusted Dealer Markup?

Glad I bought mine for cheap before the pandemic, though I wish I could have said the same about a house.

Holy shit it's hard to believe what people are paying these days despite reading about it on here daily. I remember when I bought my 2nd gen in 2012 the dilemma back then was that used trucks were going for only $1k under new so everyone would just take the obvious route and buy a new one. I got super lucky with a 6 month old trade in at a ford dealer that didn't know what they had (loaded TRD offroad) and just wanted it off the lot.

Fast forward 10 years and now I have guys offering me almost double what I paid a decade ago for the same truck.

I've been half tempted to sell my truck and just do without a truck for a year or two until prices come down again. I work from home now and hardly ever drive.

Does anyone here have or know someone that has a Relentless Hybrid bumper on their 3rd gen? I'd like to check one out in person...

I had Toyota give me an appraisal for my truck a couple days ago. I bought it for 40k-ish and they appraised my rig at 38k. I added a hard tonneau cover but everything is basically stock. Might have been able to negotiate higher but I was just curious.

I knew my truck would be a solid investment when I bought it a decade ago. I'd never sell it but these prices are insane. Was at the dealership a few weeks ago and was hoping they would approach me so I could ask them for 100k just to see their reaction.

You wanna know something really disgusting? I used to work at company that believed in nice, selling Kia's and they would come from the port with their "pulse" brake-lights (basically flashed when you hit the pedal), it was a VERY simple "removal" two screws and disconnect a wire, and they would "upsell" that shit for an extra $300... talk about predatory... I ended up walking off the job when they sold a sucker a "tricked out v6 turbo" when it was literally the most basic boring model optima available 4cyl.... he only found out when he brought it into the service bay and one of the tech thankfully told him, "no dude... there's no v6 and no turbo on your car..."

    fuckin scumbags....

Haha, except they’ll have some dude with a concealed carry do it, not your prototypical old bank teller with glasses and a golf visor.

EDIT: also, he only gets paid if he gets your shit, so it's in his best interest to make sure he gets it hooked up!
