This is just getting ridiculous at this point.

 

It's bonkers. My gf got rear ended last week, while she escaped unscathed mostly, her 09 Civic with only 115,000 miles met it's maker. Trying to find a new car is impossible, best we could do was a Hyundai Accent arriving in late June. I've been looking for a second vehicle again, but the shit people are peddling and the exorbitant prices make it impossible. What we're gonna do for the next month and a half I have no idea.

It's actually strange:
If there are no additional cars being built and/or the supply chain disruption is causing such a ripple effect for months/years: where did all those cars go that where around here 12-18mo ago?
Did they get hijacked to Somalia? Melted down into a puddle of gu? People total that many cars daily?


A couple weeks ago, we went to:
Hyundai of Renton - they had 3 new cars on the lot - everything else was used, dirty and over the MSRP of new car = pass
Toyota of Renton - they had new cars displayed but all locked and sold - why have the cars there if you can't sit in them or purchase; dude hands us his card, says they have no new cars and it would be $1000 deposit and 6 months wait for any vehicle. Then he jumps in his bud's car and goes to lunch without any type of courtesy = pass.
Walker's Mazda of Renton - Had 3 new cars for DEMO only, not for sale. Lot was nearly empty. Salesman was courteous and friendly and up front about supply change. = contender was CX-50
Michael's Toyota - no new cars, 4-6 months wait, $1000 non-refundable deposit, sales guy was courteous and frank about the supply chain. 3 year old 4Runners were selling for $48-55K with 50k miles = contender was Rav4
Honda of Bellevue - 3 new cars in the showroom for display only, 4-6 months wait, $2000 depo = contender was boring ass CR-V
Lexus of Bellevue - 2 new SUV demo hybrid NX 350, 1 new-ish SUV with 400miles NX 350 F Sport ($68k!!!), 6 month wait, very aggressive = nice but not a new car for a 16yo = pass
Barrier Audi - no new cars, used cars are turned around in 1-3 days, markup was ridiculous = hard pass.
We have 6 months before we have to get another vehicle...

I have a family member that works at Larson's in Tacoma, best he could do was guarantee that one of the incoming cars would be ours, but they had ridiculous markups and mandatory dealer installed extras. Like $4,000 over by the time it was done. Another dealership just did msrp with a deposit, and a 2 month wait

 

I bought a 270 degree awning for my FJ and I'm selling my Ironman awning now. It's 6.5 feet wide and extends out to 8 feet. It's definitely been used a bunch and suffered some damage in a wind storm a few years ago. I was able to repair it though and I've used it several times since then with no issues. It has a pretty nice led light but I don't have the dimmer switch and the cigarette lighter plug anymore. It can be ordered from Ironman but it's $50 and only comes in a package with another led light strip. I included the links for reference. I'm going to put it on OfferUp for $140 soon but I'll sell it for $100 to anyone here.

Trading in my clean title daily driver (2018 Acura TLX Aspec w/ 26,xxx) soon since my tesla is arriving middle of next month. Haven’t thought about selling it to a private party but I have the title in hand
