At that point you end up with sign overload and no one pays any attention to them at all. We have so many signs up around here that at one point we had people walking into our work area and not checking in even through there is a 2ft tall sign as you walk through the door. So just to make a point we put up signs directing them to check in with the lead every 18-24in along the route they had to walk through our office area before they could enter the main work area, no less than 12 signs. 90% of people when stopped and asked if they checked in or saw the signs proceeded to look around and only then take notice of them.

That is exactly it. Tell me if I am in actual danger or if there is something that can be truly dangerous. Beyond that, it is personal responsibility.

That reminds me... I need to enter another Safety Engagement in our system at work. This will be the third time I put one in about tripping/nearly tripping on a wet floor sign outside or inside the men's restroom. It's like they keep trying to find the worst place to put it just to F with me. Pretty sure we'd all be safer with no sign.

Sad thing is the signs aren’t to protect people, they are to protect businesses from being sued by stupid people that are accident prone/ignorant/oblivious.

If you guys love signs you should come see my work. 110k sq ft shop that I estimate has over 10k signs. I’ve had to create/post a large majority of them. Each sign is posted 4 times in the same location in 4 different languages. We even have signs for signs. Its absolutely ridiculous.

Example: since we had people shitting on top of the toilets or facing the opposite direction and shitting on the floor, then walking in it and tracking into the shop. Did/do these signs work? Nope, still happens, frequently.

Yeah I’m not sure where our safety manager was going with the 2x. One of the few signs I wasn’t involved with thankfully lol.

Everyone knows it takes 2 years to break the bad habit of standing on the toilet seat, so after two years you can celebrate by sitting on the toilet.

It's not like anyone reads / looks at the signs anyway.

    Winner!

    Where's the party?

I'm sure y'all know why this sign exists... if you don't, here is what most toilets look like in East Asia and India...
