My buddy built/gave this to me. I used them in the snow when I was running 33s - soft compound nittos. They actually didn’t damage the tires, as long as you’re not doing burnouts on them lol.

They just didn’t work well in the snow because it was hard to wedge under the tire. I think this would be more useful in clay/mud situations. Just no need since I have a winch now.

The burnt lugs on my Maxtraxs are proof that people have no self-control when it comes to traction board burnouts.

Longshot... anyone near Spokane area have any mounted snow tires for sale?

This winter, my wife and I will be spending 3-6wks at my mother's house outside of Spokane while they're playing snowbirds down in the desert. I assume my mud terrains probably won't be ideal and considering trying to find some used snow tires I can buy, use then resell when we leave. Or even better yet I'd gladly rent your tires while we're there

Me to stranded driver (the wife) in her Escalade. "Step on the gas; don't spin the tire." (Spin).
Me: "Stop!" (reposition trax). "Now step on the gas but don't spin the tires." (Spin).
Me: "Stop!" (remove trax now with flattened, burnt lugs.). To husband: "here's a shovel."

Crazy people on this website seem to think these ugly wheels are worth volk money. Might as well buy em and strip the tires and double your money.

Blizzaks are rad. Had em on my old M3 and cruised up and down the hills in Tacoma during a snow storm with no issues.

I have run blizzaks ipike and hakkaplita. Personally prefer the hakkapilita. However I got a great deal on some studded cooper mud and snow on wheels last year. They did great but they are studded so I expected them too.

If you watch spokane market place and Craig's list you will find a good deal even this time of year. I got mine last December for 150 on some older toyota rims.

Thanks! WAY more than I want to pay...but... I actually wouldn't mind picking up another set of these wheels if the deal is right. I could always try to sell off the tires after I'm done with them then bring the wheels home to keep as spares or sell 'em.

Mine. Cooper Discoverer ST Maxx 255/80/17 E load, unused, was mounted on my spare wheel. Just switched over to a different tire size so I can’t use this one. Looks like Discount Tire is asking $299 in this size. How about $200? In Portland/Beaverton area.1D7D23CC-5AF9-4D62-9DFD-E5498C3DB48F.jpg22DF44DA-B2AF-48E1-ACB5-97D3298C7A40.jpg
