@Kidwidataco I wouldn’t worry too much about these Gen folks. They have their special place in hell (I mean the Gen fourms). Sometimes they spill over into here spewing their BS. They remind me of bandwagon sports fans refusing to admit the team sucks now. Even go as far to literally reinvent the wheel.

 

I was just having fun. I mean if the 3rd gen had the 4.0 in it I'd probably have one. The 3.5 sucks

I think I’m still bitter from when I did a rear spring hanger swap for a guy up here with a really sweet 3rd Gen. After he left my wife said those are really nice looking trucks you should buy one. She might as well have stabbed me in the heart.

theres just too many electronics now to have fun with...hard to make a prerunner when you can't just rip out abs and the airbags and keep everything else running.

Traction control were definitely part of it for me. It's lame. I like a little spice in my life.

I have a busted passenger airbag in my ‘02 Tundra. Trying to decide if I should rip out all of the system or not. Is there additional upside to no airbags other than not having them go off when wheeling? Can’t buy a new or reman replacement for that one so I’m left hunting for used ones.

ABS kicked in a bunch for me yesterday in the 2016 Tacoma. Didn’t seem to help much but I was glad I had it. I have snow tires but I still slid through one downhill turn without any real hope of stopping while abs pulsed away. Got lucky there.

Studded tires are next level? I do have one spare set of wheels I’m not using yet. If these types of snow events aren’t once in 30 years I might consider some studs.

My 2wd ‘05 Tacoma has only done one useful thing since the snow hit, served as kid jungle gym.

Drove the 4.0 for the first time earlier this month. Even in AT with 250k and DC that engine is awesome. Wish I could transplant it into my ‘05.

 

I live in Spokane, I have run dedicated snow tires on all the family vehicles for years. Over here it is easy to find new or like new snows on market place. The set I bought for my truck last winter were studs. My truck feels great on even the worst roads in the worst conditions. Although when there is no snow the sound of studs drives me crazy.
