I realize. I have plenty of tools, cheap and expensive. I couldn't imagine some dickhead on a tool truck trying to convince me one screwdriver was worth $28, let alone 10 of them at once.

I've become a tool whore, but I still value shop tools, depending on their use and priority. I've definitely gone all in on Milwaukee power tools, but solid, no moving parts hand tools, I'm definitely mid tier to lower bargains.

 

All of my house stuff is usually icon, Pittsburgh, some matco, and other random stuff but at work I use only Milwaukee, matco and snapon. I'm a heavy equipment repair tech so I need the warranty.

 

I’ve been snagging some pretty decent Snap On tool deals from EBay actions. Just got two different sets of the Vessel screwdrivers today. Haven’t got to use them yet but the Philips looks like it’s pretty mean. Ordered their ball grip 1/4” ratchet with their 10 bit set tonight. I’ve been on a little tool kick the last few months. Lol, who knows might not be able to get anything out of Taiwan soon.

 

That dickhead doesn't set the price. Also, you are paying for the warranty as much as you are the tool itself but you probably already know that.

 

Husky also has a lifetime warranty. I understand the appeal to professional mechanics, make monthly payments for eternity to the guy that shows up once a week and gives you a lollipop with every purchase. A friend of mine has probably half a million in snap on, every box matches, every tool cleaned and replaced in it's spot every time. Yeah it's badass, but also jfc

I noticed the other day that my 40+ year old Craftsman 1/2 ratchet was starting to slip gears. I think my kid has been using it as a hammer. Too bad the tool outlasted the Sears.

 

I broke the tips off two craftsman screwdrivers last week...

I know it shouldn't... but still blows my mind. I paid $1.00 more than that, out the door, for my 2011 TRD offroad when new.

Hopefully my truck keeps treading water on value like that, haha. Couple more years... be awesome to get $20K+ outta it.

 

Mine I know they are not Tacoma size but if someone has a vehicle these would fit I will make a good deal on them.

Easy. We shall see how the 4th gen tacoma holds up. Stoked they kept the manual, might be my next truck in another 100k plus miles of mine haha

 

Planning on one of these... so I can stop running at 230% of rated Payload. Love my Tacoma, but for what we do with the truck majority of the time, it's really not the right one.
