I have a "throw-away" fb account I created many years ago. It has nothing on it and is also tied to a throw-away gmail address which is also tied to nothing.

My truck sale posting has been on fb for 2 days and all of the replies have been from scammers. fb really is shit!

 

Put a For Sale sign on it and park it at the end of your driveway.

 

Or park it in DT Seattle or DT Portland... and make sure your insurance is up to date.

 

Your throwaway account is every red flag I look for when I sellor buy on FB could be why your not getting a lot of real buyers any account without pictures or posts gets insta blocked. I have sold over 40 k worth of stuff on market place. I just make sure I watch for the scam accounts and scam requests. You always get a couple scam bots as soon as you post but they are super easy to spot. There are issues but imo there is no better way to move used items.

I thought of that as I was creating the sale ad, but I don't think there's anything I can do about not having postings and I'm not going to add personal photos, friends, etc.

I'll give it the full week until the posting expires.

 

I have run across some accounts that are sell only accounts. Have some pictures and a post that says something to the effect that it is a market place account. Just put a little effort into the account that a bot couldn't or wouldn't do. Would probably help
