He's kidding. @PugetSoundTaco did a flatbed conversion on his truck and then installed these flaps. I'm sure with minor effort you can make them fit a standard bed. The aftermarket Rekgens and Rockblox are all just flat pieces of HDPE... so this would likely just require drilling holes in the appropriate places. The challenge is sourcing the right size.

    Speaking of mudflaps…
I’m taking mine off due to some rubbing on my new tires and wheels. Their OEM and came with the truck. what do you think I should ask for them?

They’re dirty in the picture but are in great condition and clean up fine

They might be confused about price for one vs 2. Nice deal if it’s for sure both sides.

Not criticizing the sale, but are those truck boxes useful at all? It looks like the wheel wells eat up 75% of the space

Kind of my thoughts. I carry enough in the bed that they’d crowd things too much. But I guess if that’s not a concern, then having some nice storage space including a cooler would be good.

Can’t imagine what all of that would run at the dealer! :spending:

I fully agree on the downsides of the trail boxes.

Where I think they would be most useful is in my '02 Tundra RC. I currently have a plastic bin against the front of the bed right now for tools I want to keep in the truck. It would be nicer to have that space open and leverage the space above the wheel wells if I can still fit a 4x8 sheet between the boxes (or maybe just try one of the boxes). I have no idea if I can get them to fit though.

I'd also consider them for the '16 DC as that's already so useless as a truck that I only use the bed for hauling our dog and/or skis so I don't mind burning some space. I just have less need for tools in the family hauler right now, though the cooler could be a tiny bit fun there.

And they wouldn't really be terrible in my '05 RC Tacoma since I can't fit a 4x8 sheet in it anyway and tool storage there is limited as well b/c RC.

For someone who only has a DCSB, yeah, tough sell to give up already precious bed space since the cubbies behind and under the rear seat have a decent amount of storage as it is.
