Obviously you're probably looking for used, but good condition is hard to come by at this point. I found this thread and finally bit the bullet and bought brand new OEM from the Toyota dealer folks said was the cheapest online. Came to a couple bucks over $500 for both (a year ago), with all new bulbs/boot/etc installed. Made for a super easy install. The website listed both the smoked and clear lenses. Not sure if that's what you meant by gunmetal housings?

I haven’t identified a smoked / blackout option for 2.0 Gen Tacoma (05-09). If someone finds a source for that, I’m game to buy. I believe the part numbers referenced in Crash’s thread are discontinued?

I do have a set of nice condition 2.0 gen headlights as I swapped to a slightly cleaner used set. I came close to buying a new pair with the 25% off but didn’t pull the trigger as the ones I have are fine, just need to be aimed. Figure I’ll buy another pair in a few years or something.

I’d part with my spare set but not worth shipping and 290 miles is excessive to drive.

buying new OEM makes the most sense. They aren’t dirt cheap but they aren’t excessively expensive either.

Huh, well, WTF Dave, guess my head wasn't on right as far as remembering wtf I was doing. Maybe I'm getting confused with the 2.5 gen chatter on pro / smoked headlights. Indeed those would appear to be the right stuff. Now I have to put my money where my mouth was :p Maybe I'll bookmark this for the future and keep an eye out for a parts discount.

I will note their "Sale" prices on the website are now almost 30$ more per light than a year ago. It looks like Boch may have been bought out or something though, as the site is semi-redirecting to NuCarToyotaNorth instead of Boch something or other. Good luck man, and sorry if I hurt your wallet ;)

I'll probably just wait for the next sale. These may have been the ones I had in my cart, but I dropped a chunk on OEM bearings for the '16 at the time to prep for regear to 4.88's and didn't have the heart to go crazy after that. I think it came out to $380 total with the 25% discount. But while I've got that horrid chrome bumper on the back, it just seemed unnecessary. Waiting on the RSI 6' bed replacement option to turn the '05 into a real truck.

Yes the smoked housings. My 2011 headlights were retrofitted with D2S hid projectors and I was never able to seal them properly so they always had condensation issues. I rarely drive the truck as it is so I'm just looking for decent condition OEM smoked housings and I'll switch back to halogens.

Sorry to hear about your tent man. I had the same paranoia after my house was broken into. I had a nice 70" tv at the time that they somehow managed to fit into a car. I bought some wheel every weekend security mounts just to deter thieves as I don't have a ton of room to store my tent somewhere in the offseason. I'll definitely keep an eye out.

Think about selling my 92 everyday with prices like these. Spend it if you got it I guess.

Prices are crazy for lots of things. My mom sold her house 5 years ago for 130k. It just sold this summer for 589k. Just shy of a 100k a year increase. Not too shabby.

Probably not at 300k. I think the market is slowing down a bit and above 250k is about where prices start to fall from what I've seen.

That sounds like a great deal if it was a V6. Was it an access cab?

oh yeah access cab v6, 5 spd DLX. I would still own it if my 5yo and 8yo still fit in the back. was an awesome little truck no rust. just needed a PS pump when I brought it home. fixed that new hard lines and some cosmetic things that I wanted. heck had original smittybult bumpers like the 80's tube style ones that were awesome! if the wife had let me keep that was going to cut the frame down a bit build small tray with a truck box and solid axle swap it all and that was going to be the toy. but them my nephew and i were out one weekend and he asked if id sell infront of the wife and she said oh yeah he would. i said id make him a deal on it. he said he could do $5500 and i told my wife if he said $5500 id be coming out above what i fixed and paid originally. took off the SR5 wheels and they are sitting in my shop gathering dust. threw on the 16in tacoma steels i had and some 285/75 16's my nephew wheels and dailys it hard.
