It's all about the use case. We were moving away from the offroad/overlanding stuff. Didn't need that much capability anymore. Preferred the amenities of the camper for easier traveling from campground to campground, or not that far off the beaten path boondocking. It's great being able to overnight at rest areas as we travel around the country. But again, I'm still able to handle any forest road and then some. Just no tight trails and stuff.

Nothing wrong with a ground tent, and we actually think we'll do a bit more of that once we get a new truck for the camper. Can start using the truck more for off-road overnight adventures with friends, and the camper will be for more extended trips or foul weather camping.
