Used this method a few times. If you do it right there's no reason for your hands to be anywhere near the springs when they're under tension. Seems as safe as any method to me, but I know there are differing opinions on this.

I would trust this over a lot of the spring compressors I've seen.

Saw one posted on another site, and had to see for myself. I'd get one just to pull into a dealership and see the confused look on their faces. Or wait in the lobby and watch them run around looking for a 2007 disguised as a 2016+ just to come back and tell me they can't find my truck on the lot.

Or if I ever total mine out in a front end collision, do the conversion.

I’m honestly wondering f they are stealing those parts from the factories they build them in and just converting them on the cheap because ya know Fuck it why not have a 4.0

Stealing them from the factories or from San Diego?

From the factories in Mexico. I mean how else can you get it paint matched and brand new and do it for I think 3-4K. I remember a Mexican guy with a taco actually posted his truck and the amount it cost in Pesos for them to do it. If I recall properly this was how much.

Single cab 3rd gen ftw. Almost shows that the 3rd gen is really a 2nd gen with a face lift and different running gear. Toyota changed a few things, but it seems like the cabs are the same or parts can be easily interchanged.:notsure:

I mean someone did it with a Forerunner as well.

But there is definitely more in common between 2/3rd Gen Tacomas.

@ATOMZ did something sorta like that with a 2010 on his 2005. Not quite as ambitious as the cartel, but his did look like he did a good job.

Fit yes, will it look right? Couldn't tell you. If you can get a part number from him, check with ARB. I think there where a few people that put 05-11 bumpers on 12+, but bad to do some trimming on the bumper. You may end up with a gap between the bumper and grill horizontally. I think they where shorter than the bench sized 05-11 style.
