One thinks they have a decent bumper and rely on it until "$hit happens" and due to the lame design, it exponentially causes more damage than it prevents = damage multiplier

I get the sentiment of these "damage multiplier" comments, but keep in mind, not everyone here is getting bumpers to turn their truck into a battering ram. Some people just want a place to mount lights, or a minor level of protection against those parking lot "touches".

Saying it's a damage multiplier, is the same as saying, don't install a nice stereo system, because if your truck gets broken into, it'll cost more to replace.

If your truck is in a front end collision, you're probably f'ed regardless. I understand that maybe now the hood will get tagged, where previously it wouldn't have, but hey, some people will pay the price for the look. Not my style, but to each their own.

@bobsuruncle just creamed a deer with his truck. Wonder if he woulda wanted one of these flimsy bars instead of the ARB that he probably just hosed off afterwards.

Nope, trying to bait in a cougar. Deer guts work good I hear. At least when not going 70mph.

I'm not arguing with you guys on form over function... I'm just stating that some "city slickers" favor the form, and function be damned. No too many deer running in the streets of downtown Seattle these days.

TW man! If you didn't know better, you'd say this was a rock crawling, overlanding, zombie apocalypse enthusiast forum... not a Japanese pickup truck forum.

Didn't get a pic of the deer after impact. I hit it doing about 60mph, it came over the guard rail at the last second one morning on my way to work at 4am. I honestly never saw it coming, next thing I know, "boom badump" my front right caught air and now my steering wheel is off. I just kept on my way. This is what I found when I got to work. Some chewy bits and hair. Contoured my license plate to the bumper too.

License plate looks great bent like that! I just picked up that ARB bumper that was for sale here in Auburn yesterday, gonna get it put on once I am done piecing together my suspension. Hopefully all done within the next two weeks or so.

    Side note, glad you're alright!
