Looking for an OEM or aftermarket roof rack for a 2nd gen DCSB :fingerscrossed:

And one 285/75/16 tire in decent shape that I can use as a spare.

    From the listing:
    Open box (never used)
Brand new never mounted it cost me just over $1,000

Based on the pictures, no way is it "brand new" it looks a little beat up. But it appears to have the mounting stuff in bags, so probably stored outside and moved around a lot....

What year Tacoma is it for? Seller failed to mention that in their ad.

Def not for a 12-15, although you can fit an early 2nd gen bumper on the later year model. Can’t tell if it’s for a first gen or early second tho. Maybe @bobsuruncle can eliminate the early 2nd gen option.. $450 is a steal too.

No clue, someone will have to contact the seller and ask. Might be a good deal if someone wants to have it powdercoated to match their truck.

But based on the pictures, I think it is for a Gen 1 Tacoma:

What about just getting the bumper installed and then mounting the winch later? I think they only said it was like 1800 for the steel bumper installed and 2000 for the aluminum with no winch.

I picked up their aluminum one and did the install with another member here. On a side note, does anyone know how to grind or file off about 4mm of aluminum? My lightbar is about 4mm too wide for the mounting points and would need to shave off about 2mm on each side for a good fit.

I asked Jon about that, and he explained it's that much more work to get the bumper back off and then reinstall with the winch. I agree in that I would just much rather do it all at once.

That's awesome! It looks great man! Can't wait to get mine at some point.

What are you shaving, the $2,000 bumper or the $100 lightbar? If it's the $2,000 bumper, don't. Why risk the most expensive piece instead of the cheap one? If it's the $100 lightbar, a belt or flat disc sander would probably be the best.

How long from start to finish for the bumper install?

It took us about 6 hours (not including lunch and bullshitting), but honestly, you could probably knock it out in 2 or 3. The directions I used said to take the whole bumper off first, mark the line and then cut. There's zero reason to do. Just tape/draw your line first then cut. We did a lot of cuts and test fittings to get a good fit and flat line. So a large portion was taking the bumper off, marking it, cutting, testing, marking it again, cutting and repeat ad nauseum until you get your perfect line. In reality just leave the bumper on when you go to cut, saves so much time.

Also, use big angle grinder to cut instead of a sawzall or a dremel so you get a smooth, flat line across the whole way. Smaller discs or a sawzall will leave jagged or wiggly cuts.

I don't think I can shave 2mm off each side of the light bar without damaging some internal components or mitigate its water resistance. The only part I'd be shaving are the light bar mounts, which are thick pieces on the inside the bumper. I was thinking about getting a file and just going to town on it.
