yah, CBI is top notch! I actually went to the KBvoodo ones so i can run a cover. The construction on the KBvoodo is solid but the coating is nowhere near as good as CBI. I am going to run the Voodo ones until they start to rust which i think will be inevitable and then have them re coated the right way.

fyi. no rust at all on the CBI ones I am selling and i don't ever see it being an issue with them they are rock solid.

Eventually. Constant compression and recoil from the springs will fatigue the paint IMO.

Not sure how long it'll hold, or how it'll fare long term. Figured that by the time its an issue it'd be time to rebuild shocks. For what is worth, paint held great after putting spring compressir on them twice.
Thought about powdercoating them, but shops i reached out to said they'd bake them at 450 for 1hr...
And from what i've heard/read there is a specific range of heat lower than 450 needed in order to not compromise integrity.
So yeah, am not a pro or know for sure. I just didnt want the King Blue they were.

700# too much for just an aluminum bumper? I have plans for a winch later down the line...

    I think you'd be fine with 700s.
I was running icons with 700s and stock bumper (just very little preload). Once i got hidden winch/bumper i did have to crank preload up.
Way i saw it back when i got first suspension setup was that i was going to get bumper and winch, so i'd get beefy springs from the get go so i wouldnt have to take more downtime with suspension work.

So how come you're getting rid of these then? I have icons as well.

I’d say 700 is overkill, probably make for a stiff ride. I’ve got 650’s on my kings with a steel bumper full hoops, a winch, and steel skids.

    All the things!
Keep in mind, the 3rd gens are heavier in front. Most 3rd genners run 700's, even with just minor mods. I have 700's and i run a steel SSO Slimline bumper with a M8000 synthetic winch, sliders, and a Pro aluminum skid.

I'll second this, I have 700s on my Icons with full steel bumper, winch, 1/4" IFS skid and it's a little rougher than I would like. Next time I tear them apart I am thinking I will drop back down to a 14" 650 instead of the 13" that originally came on the Icons.

    got some
i am about to do that same think, 700s on Bilstain 6112s and the dilemma is to what notch I should drop the bracket on the shocks...
also where did you exchange the coil springs? Did you use a shop to do it for you or you did it yourself?

I’m selling mine also, and I also live in maple valley, besides the 4 bolts that hold the cap to the rail what else did you remove from your truck? I’m noticing there are two wire harnesses that come from under the bed and connect to the canopy.
