    I got 55x18 but ended up cutting down to 16 anyways. 3/8 seems to be perfect if your going to use stock hardware. I use my palm router and put a round over around the whole thing, it gets close to hitting on the bottom where the tailgate meets the bed but you can always shorten it up a bit or put a 45 chamfer on it.
