Two man response really is just the norm in this day and age, especially in urban areas. Really, what would be a stupid ass reason to have a second cop on scene?

I know a bunch of troops. Most of em are good dude's but a few definitely qualify for your description, but I guess I could say that for any group of people.

I guess the stupid ass reason to show up to one of my stops would be hey I just pulled someone over for an outted headlight.

I mean at most if I had a unit nearby they may do a drive-by to check on me but not come pull up, stop behindme, and come shoot the shit.

Guess how many warrant arrest occur. Stopped for non-functioning equipment or other small violations. Run the plate and you have a warrant (get backup) or, one or more passengers have warrants and in that case you are in the dark. With what's going on today, always good to have backup.

Ted Bundy was pulled over for driving with no lights. There are endless examples of shtf initiated by a simple intentioned traffic stop based on a traffic violation. Roll a cover, they can always disregard if wants come back clear or nothing kicks off on contact.

I can't complain about Enumclaw too much. More than a few years ago I was meeting my crew at the QFC, I had only been working for this outfit for about a month and was early. About 5 minutes before everyone was suppose to show up I realized that I'd forgot the only gate key at my house in Buckley. Long story short, when the cop finely caught up to me, he had me 10 mph over the speed limit, failing to stop at a stop sign, and no seat belt. He calmly asked if I was in a hurry. I told him my story and that the boss wasn't going to be happy that I was late, but he really would have been pissed if I didn't have the gate key. He smiled and asked me to put my seat belt on and slow it down and sent me on my way. I remembered latter on that I also had no front plate.

Sounds like you must have caught him on a really good day.
I got another seatbelt ticket a year or so after and I later found out that the cop who issued it to me has bragged about seeing the “coffee stand girl with a nice ass” come in with no seatbelt and making sure he pulled through to let her know he saw but wouldn’t give her a ticket because he’s a nice cop

My father knows him personally and asked him about it and his response was “shit I didn’t know that was your son, have him contest it and I won’t show up to court”

I’m not complaining that I had to pay the ticket because obviously I broke the law but come on.

Maybe I should do some more squats and grow my hair out:anonymous:

This was around 2002 so who knows if the same cop is still there. It was early morning and he probably figured I was already going to get my ass chewed for being late.

I made up for it a few years later in Buckley when I got a ticket for running a green light. It was 3:30 in the morning and the light turned yellow as my truck was going through the intersection. The cop told me "I should have anticipated the light turning", even though there was no one at the intersection.

Mirrors are tentatively sold. I ordered a diesel ZR2 bison in this color. No bed bars for me though.
