Material wise, as long as you dont have a canopy, about 550 for the wrap. Plus some good squeegy things

It's cheap wrap.

 

Whoever was debating wrapping their truck, stick with 3m, or Avery wrap. I've used countless cheap wraps and they will fail/fade/ruin your paint etc every time.

 

Ah. Yeah Plasti dipping the whole truck ended up being about 450$

 

I’m passing on it. I want one but I don’t want to spend $175 on it. I just bought some sliders and I’m gettting them sandblasted and powdered this week. Gonna cost $150 so I can’t justify forking both lol

 

Was that $450 to have it done or did you do it yourself?

If you take care of it and do it properly, both have a lifespan of about 4-5 years

Yes, please stay away from those eBay wrap vinyls!! Stick with the major brands for sure... and for those interested in wrapping, please remember to try and do it when it's warm or in a warm garage.. stretching the vinyl (and you will need to do cold pre-stretches i.e. - stretching before using a heat gun) when its cold will cause it to tear/rip/break (especially 3M). Other brands to consider are Oracal and Vvivid which we've had very good experience with as well. Other things to get are edge sealers and edge tape for the bottom edges of the car to keep the wrap in place from lifting.

 

I agree with everything except Vvivid, I tried their wraps and tint several different times, they all failed. The color faded when heated with a heat gun, it tore and didnt stick, even when on flat surfaces sometimes. I'd love to wrap my truck, but the canopy, front bumper and sport hood would be difficult

 

In our experience, only way color would fade is if it was heated too much prior to stretching because it is thinning out.. that in turn, thins the adhesive layer so then it won't stick. Also, stretching it too thin would cause it to rip. Not saying you did your installation wrong or anything but we deal with all the mentioned brands of vinyl on a daily basis in 2 different shops and haven't had any major issues with Vvivid like you mentioned. Please take this with a grain of salt as well, but if you think those pieces you mentioned are difficult to wrap then maybe you may not have enough experience wrapping vehicles? Not trying to offend you or anything but any experienced wrapper would be able to knock those pieces out quite easily imo. Again, not trying to offend you as things on these boards get intense really quick so I'm trying to avoid that at all costs =)

 

I wrapped both those pieces on my truck... Bumper took two tries, the hood scoop took 3. I actually found the mirrors to be harder.
