What back up cam did you go with? I'm in the market with it

 

This is identical to the kit I got, but I paid $75. The price seems to have gone up on the eBay market. I'm sure you could find it on Amazon or elsewhere for around the same price or cheaper. I actually bought 2 kits.

I bought one originally, opened it up and checked it out to see what else I might need to route and install the harness and some how lost the camera. I couldn't find just a replacement camera that would PNP with the harness so I bought a hole new kit. I've got the handle and a spare harness, but no camera. I'm sure it's around here somewhere but I looked everywhere for it. If you can find a camera that will work with that handle and kit, I'll sell the harness too. I was going to keep it as a spare just in case but meh. I'm not sure if that harness could be spliced to work with similar tailgate handle cameras.

I laugh every time I see a special suspension setup like that on an offroad trailer. What a fucking gimmick.

 

I see the description, but have you seen a good photo of it? I assume it's just some sort of A-arm with a coil slapped in-between...

Aside from "gimmicky" is there a negative aspect to it that I'm missing?

Not being defensive, but am genuinely curious and trying to learn.

 

The two negative aspects are the cost of coilovers vs leaf springs and the higher number of moving parts to wear out and break. Looks to me like that's exactly it, a trailing a arm with a coilover. The hitch provides all the articulation, so literally all you need is springs and some decent shocks.

 

Could probably even just get away with some big rubber bump stops as suspension lol

 

So who wants to buy some BP-51’s? Front coilovers are brand new and the rears have 5k miles on them.

 

Anybody see a single handle 1979-1983 toyota pickup tailgate while browsing?

 

Oooh those are tough. I'll keep an eye out. I usually see more 79-80 side latch style. My buddy has a spare but he already said he'd never get rid of it, it was hard enough to find already.
