I saw this before. He doesn't mention what gears it has so I am assuming that it's a stock setup. It's also a little annoying when people don't post a price. I would suggest to do a little research to make sure the housings are the same size and the gears match if you do want to look into it. There could be small variations that could mess everything up.

 

Thats what I was just told and Im about to post on here and see if anyone knows for sure. Guy has someone coming tomorrow but said I could get it today for $300. Think its worth it if it fits?

 

Guy says he works at toyota and that it does fit.

Edit: Told him no, he said you have to cut and drill into your axle to make it fit. People have done it before but I don't want to have to do that.

 

Quick search results say that they are both 3.73 gear ratio. Now you just need to make sure the size is the same (7.5" vs 8")

Thanks Kolt and Mike for the help! But he didn't know enough about where it came from for my to feel comfortable putting it in. He didn't know miles on it, year, or anything about the FJ other than its an automatic.

It does sound a little sketchy. If he works at Toyota he should be able to look up the part numbers to figure out exactly what it is.

Yeah along those lines, though I have some specifics so my search will probably take months, but that's okay too

Matching color, fits the DC short bed, the windows don't slide but rather they open outboard, the top of the canopy is flat-- it doesn't change in hight like some canopies, I'll sift through the "show me your shell!" thread when I get a chance, most likely tomorrow at work lol but yeah want one eventually
