I have Falken Wildpeaks on my truck and they're awesome in the rain. So were the Dynapros I had before those.

You must have the AT correct? Looking at the Falken specs it looks like those outperform the MT by quite a bit for snow/rain which is why I am looking at those as my next tires for Ski season. A bit nervous with the KO performance I've experienced thus far

Makes me curious. KO2s are really popular, but anywhere you go, it's the same story. Slippage when it's wet. I mean, they've been around how long, and that's still something that seems to elude resolution?

The Taco is my DD and weekend warrior. I haven't really pushed the limits off road for that reason, which may be why the KO2s seem to work well for me.

These seem to be the most common on TW. Any thoughts on pros and cons?? (loud, bad mileage, great in snow and mud, long life)

BFG KO2s: Quiet, nice ride / lose traction on wet roads at higher speeds

    But why?

Also, do you happen to want/need the back cargo area carpet/mat for a GX? (Or know someone who does)

The 8" rear is notorious for grenading after about 150k or so. Thats why they changed it to the 8.2 on the 5th gen 4runner, 460 and FJ in 2010.

Edit: Grenading during hard wheeling (i.e. wheel hop on slickrock). I'm not convinced its that big of a deal and am pretty sure you can just pull the rear shaft and 3rd, clean out the diff and drive it home in front wheel drive.

Makes sense. With the rear suspension being so different it seems like a ton of work but if it's that much more stout it might be worth it.

Yeah the shafts are different and I could weld spring perches to the tubes but i dont know much about gear ratios or any of that crap. I just do what other people figure out if i can do it for cheap.

    All the things!
I have KO2's on my 2017 Tacoma and I used to have KO's on my 2000 Jeep XJ. While I understand and also notice what people say about the wet weather traction, I think it's being blown a bit out of proportion. I've driven on the KO2's for the last 2 years in all sorts of weather conditions and I've never once felt out of control or spun my tires without meaning to. I did have an issue with the KO's on my Jeep on some frosty back-roads, but I attribute that to having them WAY over-inflated.

For the minimal loss in wet weather traction, I feel they make it up for off-road traction and looks.
