I had a bed mat for a while. The only downside to the bed mat is when you have a canopy you have to climb into the bed to get anything out. I liked things not sliding around but not enough to have to climb in and duck every time. I sold it after about a month of having it in and a month of it sitting rolled up in my garage.

For that price it definitely is worth trying it out. If you don't like it then it will be easy to sell.

 

I guess not having one, its hard for me to see what you're talking about.

The bed mat is suppose to keep things from sliding around back there. Im looking for something to hold my stuff in place (coolers, totes, chairs, snowboards, toolbox) Carpet seems to do an alright job. I hate crawling in there without a bed mat, cause the ribs kill my knees.

What do you have in there now?

 

Nothing. I love the idea of it but I hate having to climb in there more than I would without it. It totally makes sense in an open bed situation because you don't have to crawl under the canopy. To me it just feels like it makes loading/unloading more difficult more than anything else.

Think about anything that you can normally slide in and out... Then think about not being able to slide it at all. Or the things that you may load that barely clear the canopy then think about having ~1/2" less clearance (thickness of the mat).

 

I used my bed for the first time in a while...

Stupid city living.

 

Ahhh now i see what youre saying. Like you said i can try it out for a while, and if i dont like it i can always sell it for around what i got it for. He also said it was mine, and i can come pick it up from him monday at the hanger he works at.

Oh okay I see what you mean. That's why I got the big horse stall mat, you can push things on it and the mat doesn't move, but also keeps things from sliding around. I haven't seen an oem one, but by pics it looks pretty thing and would slide around easily if you were to push a cooler on it into the bed. With my stall mat it doesn't move

 

someone had left a roll of mat after using it in a boat at my dads. i cut it up and it works great!

Hey, I just post them when I see them. You guys do the rest. I am just glad to see when people actually buy the stuff that I post. It makes me feel a little useful at least. I hope it does work for you though.

I have heard of people using other mats and have good success. In my case, I don't spend much time inside my bed so I am totally fine as it is. I am sure others can find use of that info though.

 

In the next few weeks I'll be building a drawer system in the bed so I won't need mine. If anyone wants to wait a few weeks I'll sell it to ya for $20. Pre cut for short bed though

 

If you guys want a hybrid-ish bed mat (meaning, that it sorta lets things slide), then you can get one from Summit Racing for $50 or so. There's a link floating around here somewhere, I think it's in the cheap mods sticky.
I like mine.
