Painted that protech box I picked up. Acid wash using diluted muriatic acid followed by 2 coats black enamel, and 2 coats clear from rattle cans. IMG_20191209_221453.jpg IMG_20191209_221958.jpg

Not too shabby. I'd prefer that over the bare aluminum. Nice work!

Yeah the aluminum turned out pretty clean before I painted it, I thought about polishing it but black is more my style. Taped over the outline and the letters on the emblem for just a tiny bit of chrome.

There were some deep scratches that I used some light sanding to remove, a couple good ones that in the right light you can still see but most came out with minimal work. The clear ended up with an orange peel look to it, I may try and buff that out or just leave it. Meh.

One I can stuff in that CBI bumper. I leaning on buying new thinking of either a Smittybilt X20 or the newer XRC gen 3 hopefully in the 10k range. I’ve been in the research cave scoping them out. I’ve been buried in the snow twice in the last year and needed yanked out. The last time was over in Chewella spring bear hunting 30 miles off the blacktop and had to walk out 6 miles before I caught a ride to cell service to call a wrecker to save my truck from rolling off the edge. Insurance covered it but that’s not really how I wanna do shit. Easily could have pull myself up and out with a winch.

I have a Warn M8000 winch and I'm with you, it's cheap insurance. I'd also invest in some Maxtrax. They seem gimmicky, but I assure you, they work and are a great assist to a winch.

If you're spending the money, I'd recommend Warn. The others will work (maybe), but it's about them working when you need it. Keep in mind, they get abused by weather, being exposed on the front of your car. Buy once, cry once.

I was up elk hunting north of Ellensburg this weekend and the snow level was a lot lower than I expected. Did not want to get stuck so noped out of there. Full bumper and winch will definitely be happening before next season

I ran around Naches with zero problems in fairy deep fresh once snow bone stock and with 265/70/17 Duratracs. Lol bone stock I was coming down from the Bald Mt. Look Out and a group of snow wheelers where coming up. Some dude in a Jeep on 37” Irocks was leading them up. His eyeballs about popped out of his head when he saw me coming down. Must have felt pretty bad ass leading a pack of wheelers only to realize you where following up a stock truck breaking trail still on it’s Bridgestone Duelers.

It was pretty sketchy. My passager rear tire was 4” off the ground and any time I tried to move i kept going over the edge. The road was a sheet of ice with snow melt running across it and way off camber coming around a switch back. I had hit it in 4 high 2nd gear and it spun a tire about halfway across and the damn track control kicked on and screwed me by cutting my momentum. I worked it to the edge of the road thinking I would be fine getting two tires in the brown stuff but it was wet clay they push over the edge when they put the road to bed after logging it the year before. As soon as I hit that shit the drivers side sunk. It’s a pretty steep drop off for about 20’ to a little creek. Definitely would have went over if I had monkied with it more. When I got out I sunk in mud over my ankles. I knew I was fucked and started walking out with my kid waiting to hear it finally go over all the way.FA3442C5-70E0-4FC2-9C52-3D2177CE95C0.jpg

Have 5 Wheels and tires (5th is still under truck in the spare spot). 285/70/17 E-rated Wildpeaks with Pro-Comp series 32 Bandido wheels in matte black. Sorry, pictures are pretty crap, but only about 5K miles on them! All rotated evenly and all have even treadwear and will come with lug nuts and lug nut tool. I have the center caps too. Not sure about price but $1200 OBO seems like an ok starting place. If anyone disagrees on the price, suggestions are welcome with a fair price for the package. Also have some (4) 265/70/17 off-brand tires with about 25%(?) tread left. Make me an offer on those! Located in Salem, OR.
