Thank you!!! Since day 1 she has done nothing but bash Apple, and bash the free replacement. At first she complained because she thought it was a refurb and it would impact her ability and price at which she could sell it, and now the problem is that its too small.

fun stuff coming soon! New battery, radiator and CV joints and axles. Added some Rancho RS5000 shocks.
i wasnt sayin anything bad about op finding the replacement program.

this is the first problem ive had with apple, i didnt like the fact they never specified what they were replacing it with, and that they are replacing it with something different. the memory upgrade is the only better thing coming out of the deal imo.

if it was the bigger nano, no i didnt want a refurb, and i would have kept it. but with the little nano, i have no use for something that small, and i was going to sell it to someone on here that wanted one, but im not going to sell him a refurb that has the potential to goof up in a few months.

I think Apple did a badass job compensating people for iPods that are way out of warranty. Props to them, and another reason I'll continue to buy their products!

Now we need a recall on the 30gig classic, I have that one sitting in a drawer because the battery can't hold a charge.

FWIW, I have had a few apple refurbs in the past, and they are identical in every way to the new units. In fact, I recently got 2 new nanos, 1 refurb, 1 new off the shelf. I cant see a difference in either.

It is pretty easy to soldier in a new one... Instructions are on YouTube and you can get a cheap battery on eBay. You just have to work up the courage to open it up.

I have had some refurbs for longer than 3 years. I have only had the new one for a month. Never had an issue with them. In fact, the only issue I ever had with an Ipod, was with one purchased new.

Yeah, the apple refurbs are litterally like new. Ther eis no evidence to tell they are not new. On the apple site, they mention that all refurrbs not only have to pass all testing, but the get new crystal/glass, and new cases. I personally try to buy only refurbs from them, as it saves a little cash, and the products are always perfect. In fact.....I think I have only ever bought 2 new Ipods, the rest have all been refurbs. I know for a fact that at least 1 was purchased new, and the other I dont remember if it was bought new or not, so Im gonna guess new. You get a full warranty, and support too.
