Howdy tacomaworld! Haven’t even logged in this year, been out of the loop for a while. Finally getting around to doing my timing belt (water pump went Hiroshima on me a couple days ago) so I figured people might want to see some pics of what an original 19 year old belt looks like with 185k on it. Amazed it made it this far, but it’s pretty roached.

About to order this kit, also already got a new crank pulley bolt from the dealer since they are single use.

Put some armor all on it and it will be fine. :anonymous:

Good thing the 3.4 is a non-interference style engine.

Thanks, I don’t have the parts yet so it’ll be a few days, but so far it’s been stupid easy. Haven’t attacked the crank pulley bolt yet though.
Haha that’s the good/bad thing, if it was an interference motor I would have done this immediately after buying it, but since it’s non interference i’ve been “meaning to” for 50k

If you've an 18" breaker bar and the correct size socket, then that bolt is no big whup to remove.

If your bored waiting on parts you can put new brushes in the alternator for 15.00 or so from the dealers parts department

It’s an Oregon truck so it hasn’t spent time in super hot dry climate, might be part of it

That kit looks pretty thorough and the reviews seem like it's a good buy. You can try to add up oem parts online one by one to see if there is a cheaper price difference. This one seems well thought out though.

I already ordered it, didn’t price all the parts individually, just wanted the kit to be done with it. Seems cheap enough too

I haven't had an issue with eBay prices ever. I buy oem filters and whatnot on there. I think you did well, you'll get all the parts in on one haul and be done with it in a day instead of waiting on random parts and different delivery days.
