Original Toyota brand tonneau cover installation question

I recently acquired an original Toyota soft tonneau cover that is almost like new. It is very easy to figure out how it installs except for six little plastic clips the have the shape of an H. For the life of me I do not know where these go or what their purpose could be.

The cover has aluminum rails, a unique snapping system and a rubber Toyota emblem sewn into the right rear.

Has anyone seen this exact cover before so the can tell me where the black clip things go?
